Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans Elect New Executive Board at 2017 convention

Madison, Wis. (April 8, 2017) -- The Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans (WICRs) held their annual convention in Madison, WI the past two days. Over 75 College Republican leaders from across the state gathered together to discuss the successes of this past election cycle and how they will build on those successes.

The millennial vote was crucial in electing President Trump and Senator Johnson in 2016 and the WICRs have no intention of allowing that momentum to slow.

In addition to hearing phenomenal speakers talk about how to continue winning the millennial vote, the WICRs elected new executive board members:

Jake Lubenow, Chairman

Ryan Ring, Vice Chairman

Elizabeth Steckel, Treasurer

Elizabeth Michels, Secretary

The WICRs also announced the following award winners for Chapter of the Year, Chapter Chair of the Year, and the Candee Arndt Scholarship for College Republican Activism:

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Chapter of the Year

Jerod Krueger, UW-Milwaukee, Chapter Chair of the Year

Gabe Nelson and Bailey La Sage, UW-Lacrosse and UW-Madison,

Candee Arndt Scholarship for Republican Activism

Newly elected chairman, Jake Lubenow, issued the following statement:

“Today the WICRs embark on a new mission. I thank Alex Walker for his hard work as Chairman this year and what he did for the WICRs. We’ll now set our sights on winning in 2018. Our organization is committed to keeping the Governor’s office red and beating Sen. Baldwin. I am excited about the team we’ve assembled and am looking forward to getting started as Chairman.”
